Meet Our Chicago Manager -
Marlin Keesler, "The Reluctant Runner"


Marlin has completed over 60 marathons including one in each of the 50 U.S. States. He authored his experience of running, travel, and family in "Our Life on the Run - A Story of Running 50 Marathons in 50 States: A Family Quest". (available on Amazon.com) The irony is that Marlin does not like to run hence "The Reluctant Runner". However, he understands the benefits of a good running cardio.

Marlin's mission is to make sure that YOU leave Chicago satisfied having accomplished YOUR cardio goals while experiencing the most complete and fulfilling tour Chicago has to offer. You will leave knowing you gained the absolute most out of your travel experience.

Personal Runs*

$75 for a run up to 6 miles/$5 for each additional mile
10% off for each additional runner registered

With our personal runs you choose how far you would like to run, what areas and sights you would like to see and we can customize a run or choose from one of our Featured Routes (See Below).  Your personal running guide will meet you at the location* where you are staying to take you on your run. We will run at your pace, provide water and have a camera in case you feel like capturing the moment.

At the completion of the run we will return you to where you are staying and you walk away with a souvenir goody bag that includes a t-shirt as well as running and city related products.

1) City in a Garden (5.62 miles) - Themed around Chicago park system. Includes running through Millennium Park, Lakeview East Park, Grant Park and Museum Campus. See the absolute best view of Chicago's skyline on this route.

2) Tower to Tower (6 miles) - An architectural route through the heart of Chicago. Includes running past the 4 tallest buildings in the city. A perfect route for an early morning tour because it can be accomplished with very little pedestrian traffic.

3) Run to Wrigley (6.48 miles) - Run from the Tribune Tower to Wrigley Field and see many cool landmarks in between. Sights include the Mag Mile, Washington Square Park, Old Town, the original Playboy mansion, The Chicago History Museum, The Lincoln Park Zoo, sight of the St. Valentine’s Day massacre, and Wrigley Field. This route is a great one. It is even better when run a little later in the morning, after 8, when most of the zoo animals are out.

4) Devil in the White City (8.1 miles) - designed around the book of the same name. Includes location where H.H.Holmes built his castle of macabre. Oak Woods cemetery where Olympic champion Jesse Owens is buried. Jackson Park. Statue of the Republic. Wood Island. The Japanese Garden. Museum of Science and Industry. University of Chicago Campus. Midway Plaisance. Fountain of Time sculpture. And Washington Park. This route is restricted and can only be run between 7 a.m. and noon.

Our runs take place 7 days a week, all year long excluding Christmas day and Thanksgiving.

Lead by the knowledgeable guides of City Running Tours, we offer casual 5K and 10K runs with designated stops along the way to take in the scenery and talk about the landscape. Our group running tours includes bag and coat check and a bottle of water. You will be responsible for your arrival to and departure from the meeting location. All runs begin at Cloud Gate(The Bean) in Millennium Park and require sign up by 5 am on the morning of the run.

These runs are designed as social runs. They are for all running levels. Group size varies from day to day and is dependent on registrations

THE FINEST "26.2 MILE’S OF CHICAGO" PACKAGE TOUR

As arranged, $230 per person

Create your own personal marathon and join City Running Tours on 4 unique routes (listed below) to equal 26.2 miles. Do it all in 1 day, 4 days, or 4 visits. Your personal running guide will meet you at the location where you are staying to take you on your run. We will run at your pace, provide water and have a camera in case you feel like capturing the moment.

At the end of the 4 runs you will receive an official certificate of completion along with a souvenir goody bag that includes a CRT t-shirt as well as running and city related products.
